EMMA (nee MIKKELSEN) AND ROY ARBUCKLE

Emma, the younger daughter of Mikael and Dagmar Mikkelsen, was born at Oberon in 1903.

She took her education at Auburn School, played ball, and skated.

She married Roy Arbuckle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Arbuckle, in 1925. They had one child, a son, Vernon. Roy, fond of music, played the fiddle.

He passed away in November 1936 from a bout of pneumonia and is buried at Hamiota. Emma worked at Pope in 1937, and then in 1938 moved to Shoal Lake till 1944 when she bought a rooming house on Langside St. in Winnipeg and had boarders. In 1969 she sold the house and retired on Arlington Street where she still lives.

Vernon married and had three children, Gail, Roy and Kirk. He lives with his mother.
