My father Melvin Brown, who with his three brothers came to Forrest, Man. from Hull, Quebec and started farming. My mother came from Port Hope, Ontario to Neepawa to a farm on the Carberry road, then moved to Brookdale, one mile south and half mile west to the Benson farm. My father had a farm west of the Benson farm.

My mother played the church organ for 25 years. She also had the Young Peoples'' choir. She also gave piano lessons to a lot of young people in the community.

I myself left Brookdale in 1940 when Ijoined the army and returned to Canada in 1946. I spent four years in Winnipeg where I married my wife Edith Gilbert. We have been married for 38 years. We came to the U.S.A., Milwaukee, Wis. and have been here for 36 years. Now we are retired.
