Aerial view of flooded land at Rosenfeld in 1948. The rapid thaw in the late spring of 1948 caused such a rapid run-off from the Pembina Hills that the Hespeler dyke was unable to handle it and broke through in several places. Much of the land between Rosenfeld, Altona and Plum Coulee was under water.
