Urbanization and Modernization
Throughout the 1960's and 1970's the population of the R.M. of Rhineland continued to drop as people left in search of better oppor tunities. This emigration was not only caused by declining farming opportunities, but also by the attractive employment and service con veniences of larger urban centers. During the 1960's the income of a Rhineland farmer was not only considered low but was dropping stead ily."
