Victoria, Be. On January 15, 1999, Bob will be 83. Bob and I, Len, are the only ones left in that Averill family.

I, Len, wi l lbe 82 on March 14, 1999. For the first time in my life, I was a patient in the hospital when I had my left knee replaced on December 11, 1998. My wife, Vema, and I still live in our home in Minnedosa. I often think of my friends at Erickson.


Since the last history book, Victor has left Riding Mountain National Park, after seventeen years of service in purchasing. He now owns and operates his own busi­ ness in Erickson, Carrousel Trading Co. He sells satellite systems, furniture, appliances, TV's, stereos, giftware and Watkins products. He operates out of the building at 32 Main Street, formerly known as the Marshal Wells Store.

In 1996, Lana purchased this building and presently operates a Laundromat, small convenience store and rents videos from the same location - called D. & L. Enterprises.

Both of their children, Tyler and Myranda, graduated from Erickson Collegiate.

August 6, 1994, Tyler married Tracy Melnyk, daugh­ ter of Nick and Shirley Melnyk of Sandy Lake. March 22, 1999 they had their first chi Id, David Victor William, born in Regina.

Tyler's family is presently living in Brandon where he is employed at STAR-FM RADIO. He is the program manager and morning host.

Myranda is presently living in Winnipeg where she is employed at the Toronto Dominion Bank, in Customer's Service.

Victor and Lana presently reside in the apartment above the store they operate.


Bob and Annette Beatty have operated Beatty's Esso since May 18, 1979.

They have three children. Rob was adopted and was born on July 26,1963. Rob received his B. Rec., B. Comm. (Hons.) from the University of Manitoba. Rob married Leanne Driscoll on July 2, 1994. Their daughter, Kailin, was born on December 29, 1997. Rob works for CIBC Bank and resides in Halifax, NS.

Richard was born on May 16, 1979. He graduated from Erickson Collegiate. He attended Minot State University in Bottineau, ND, majoring in business. He played hockey for the Yellowhead Chiefs AAA Midget Hockey team and the Bottineau Lumberjacks. He is presently completing his business degree at the University of Lethbridge.

Rhonda was born on December 23, 1981. Rhonda graduated from the Minnedosa Collegiate. She has had numerous successes at golf, both with her high school golf team winning a gold medal there and playing with the Manitoba Junior Girls' golf team. Rhonda is presently attending Lethbridge Community College and is enrolled in the Professional Golf Program.

Bob and Annette built 'Bob's Bunker', a par 3, pitch and putt golf course. The grand opening was on June 27, 1993.

George and Margaret Beatty, the parents of Bob Beatty, have recently sold their home and are moving to Elliot Lake, ON.
