Carma graduated from Keewatin Community College (1996) as an Administrative Assistant, and she presently resides in The Pas, MB.

In 1999, Mabel retired after 33 years as an early­ years teacher. Don plans to retire in 2000 after 29 years as a welder at the pulp and paper mill in The Pas. Mabel and Don reside in Cranberry Portage, MB.

BREWER, MERVYN AND DOROTHY

Mervyn is the son of Harry and Ruth Brewer. In 1990, he and his wife, Dorothy, purchased the home quar­ ter, NW 16-18-18, from his parents. They continue to farm there and Dorothy is employed at the Royal Bank.

Bradley, Mervyn and Dorothy's son, now lives in Wellwood, MB. He has his class I license and is presently a truck driver.

BURKETT, WILFRED AND INA

Wilfred and Ina (nee Young) came to the Erickson District in the 1930's. Wilfred served in the Second World War and, upon discharge, he worked as a chef at various places. Ina was a homemaker and was active in many community affairs such as the Women's Institute, Curling Club, the Royal Canadian Legion, and the church. She loved playing the piano with the Melody Aces Orchestra. Wilfred and Ina moved to Pine Falls, then to Winnipeg. While living in Winnipeg, Ina worked at the nurses' resi­ dence at the Grace Hospital.

Wilfred predeceased Ina in 1973. Ina then moved to Brandon living in an apartment and later moved to Fairview Home. Ina passed away November 8, 1996. Wilfred and Ina are interred at the Municipality cemetery in Erickson.

Their son, Lawrence, resides in Maple Ridge, Be. He married Elsie (Benson / Sterland).

Their daughter, Joyce, married Sydney Waldron. They reside in Winnipeg. Their daughter, Marlene and Douglas reside in Winnipeg; daughter, Edith and her husband Laverue Lovatt have three children and they live in Morden, MB. Their son, Douglas, and his wife Gloria have two children.

Twins, Dorland and Dorothy were boru June 3, ] 93] Dorland- passed away April 2, 1995. He married Viola Shellboru. (See to Burkett, Dorland and Viola).

Dorothy married Eskil Ullberg. Dorothy and Eskil have two children, Aaron and Brenda. Aaron and his wife Devorah have two children and Aaron has a daughter from a previous marriage. They live near Toronto. Brenda and her husband, Brian Penner, live in Warman, SK. Dorothy passed away in May 1992. Eskil resides in Saskatoon.

Daughter, Marjorie resides in Okotoks, AB. Marj married Murray Black. They have three children: Karen, Rob and Bruce. Their oldest daughter, Susan, passed away. Karen and her husband, Neil Flemmer, have two children and they reside in Okotoks, AB; sons, Rob and Bruce, live in Winnipeg. Rob has a son, Andrew. Murray passed away in February 1987. Marj enjoys spending her summers at her cottage near Clear Lake.

Daughter, Beryl married Bill Tinkler and they reside in Neepawa. There are three sons, Darwin, Delmar and Cameron from Beryl's first marriage. Beryl has three grand­ children.

Fourteen grandchildren fondly remember the fun times with Grandma and Grandpa Burkett, and seventeen great grandchildren will enjoy stories passed on about their great grandparents.
