Wi IIiam, 'Wi Hie', son of Nick and Ann Chemerika, was born on December 14, 1930, on SE 10-17 -17W. He was three years old when he and his parents, his brothers and sisters moved to SW 11-17-17 W. Willie attended Lund School, but quit at an early age to help out on the family farm.

In 1953, Willie went to Winnipeg to try city life but after a short time he returned to the family farm.

On July 3, 1954 William married Josephine Baraniuk, daughter of Nick and Pearl Baraniuk of Mountain Road, at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church. For the next three years we lived on the family farm, SW 11-17 -17W.

In July 1957, we moved to the SW 15-17 -17W and lived in the old school house. TnJune 1959, we built a new home. Arthur Koping built the house.

The family fann involves mixed grain, commercial

and domestic cattle, and was previously expanded to

include purebred charolais.

Our family can honestly say that life can be beauti­ ful and life can be miserable but with God's help we are happy and healthy. We have six children.

Janice was born May 4, 1955. She attended Lund and Erickson Schools. She went to Calgary for one year and worked as a waitress before moving to The Pas to work as a waitress, and later attended Keewatin Community College. Jan graduated in June 1976, after she received her training as a dental assistant. She later went to Swan River and worked with the children's program for one year, before going on to Steinbach where she worked for four years. She later moved to Winnipeg and worked for seven-

teen years with the Manitoba Children's Dental Program. She later worked for the University of Manitoba in the Seniors' Dental program for four years.

Jan married Leo Sanderson on August 14, 1982. Leo is employed with Pollard Bauknote of Winnipeg, and the family was transferred to Kamloops, BC in 1999. Jan and Leo have two children: Shay la, born on July 22, L984 and Michael, born on September 27, 1989.

Ricky was born on March 7, 1959 and attended school at Erickson. After graduating from Erickson Collegiate, he moved to Grimsby, ON at the age of eighteen. He started work with Defasto in Hamilton, ON and graduated from the Refrigeration, Heating and Cooling course. On July 4, 1981 he married Ann Westun of Grimsby, ON. They reside in Grimsby and have three children: Jennifer, bam on June 9, 1987; Eric, bam on April 27, 1989; and Cody, bam on March 8, 1992.

Laurie was bam on September 3, 1962 and attended school at Erickson. After graduation, she went to work for the Greyhound Bus Depot for two years, before attending Assiniboine Community College for Business Accounting. She later worked at Westoba Office Group where she was a buyer and a salesperson on the road. In 1989, she moved to Winnipeg and was a stationary salesperson for five years. She then moved on to Cotter Canada where she was a buyers' associate.

On June 29, 1991, Laurie married Charles Pander in Neepawa. Chuck is employed with Princess Auto. They have two daughters: Nicole, bam on September 6, 1994; and Katrina, bam on July 7, 1996. The Panders reside in Winnipeg.

Wendell was bam July 2, 1964 and he attended school at Erickson and Minnedosa. Wendell took over the family farm in November 1992, and is still involved with mixed grain, as well as commercial and purebred Charolais. He also drives a bus for Rolling River School Division.

On August 14, 1999 Wendell married Nancy Johnson

at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church. Nancy IS

employed at the Minnedosa Tribune as a news reporter.

Madeline was born on August 7, 1966 and attended school in Erickson, and later Brandon where she trained to be a chef. She was employed at Rolling Pin Restaurant in Brandon where she met her future husband, Ken Robb. They were married on August 22, 1987. Ken and Madeline later moved to Winnipeg. Ken is employed with Cotter Canada and Madeline with Saan Store. They have two children: Tanner, bam on August 11, 1995, and Alyssa, born on July 29, 1997.

Michelle was bam on February 7, 1970 and attended school at Erickson. Michelle loved working with animals and after graduation she attended Fairview College where she graduated with a degree in Animal Health Technology. She worked in Prince George, BC for two years before
