Leon and Sophie were blessed with three children. Henry, born February 7, 1928. (refer to Oshust, Henry and Helen).

Edward, born August 6, 1936. (refer to Oshust, Ed­ ward and Marcia).

Elizabeth "Betty", born June 18, 1940, attended school at Dauphin and Erickson where she graduated from the high school. On April 22, 1969, Betty married Edward McLeod in Erickson. They have two children, Patricia born January 21, 1971, and Neil born January 17, 1973. The family reside at Fort Frances, Ontario.

Henry, son of Leon and Sophie Oshust was born February 7, 1928, at Ethelbert, Manitoba. He attended school at Taras, Demery and graduated from Ethelbert high school. He participated in spelling contests, Christmas concerts, plays, and was a member of the Glee Club.

In 1944-45, he received his first year Science at the University of Manitoba and during this time he also was a Cadet in the Canadian Officers Training Corps.

In the summer of 1945, Henry worked as an Elec­ trician's Helper at Sherritt Gordon Mines, Manitoba, and then by fall, he returned to help his parents operate their Royal Cafe, Dauphin.

In April 1947, Henry moved to Erickson to operate the Quality Store in partnership with his parents. His grandparents kept house for him until his parents, brother and sister arrived in October.

Major renovations to the building commenced in 1955.

Also in that year, the business joined Solo Stores.

Henry has served the community through executive positions in the Memorial Arena, Chamber of Com­ merce, Lions Club, Red Cross, Volunteer Fire Depart­ ment, St. Jude's Church, and since October, 1980, as Mayor of Erickson. Also served 13 years as Director of Merchants Consolidated Limited and as representative of Pioneer Life and Pioneer Trust from 1974 to 1982.

Henry married Helen Kolabinski September 19, 1957, at St. Jude's Church in Erickson in a double ceremony with brother Edward marrying Marcia Morris. While Helen and Henry were away on their honeymoon with the family car they learned from Bill Karton at Haney, B.C., that Leon had hitched a ride to a bingo game at Min­ nedosa and came back home with a new Meteor he had won.

Henry and Helen have two children; Peter and Susan. Peter, born July 23, 1959, attended Erickson Elementary school and grades 10 to 12 at Notre Dame College, Wilcox, Saskatchewan, and took 1st Year Commerce at American College of Switzerland, Leysin, Switz. in 1978. The following two years were spent as Ski Instructor and Cook at Sunshine Village, Banff. Peter operated a bedding plant sales business the past four seasons in Brandon and assisted at his parents' store during summer school breaks. He is presently taking Commerce at the Brandon University.

Susan, born February 2, 1962, attended Erickson Elementary and Erickson Collegiate. A son Jeremy was born August 6, 1979. Susan attended Brandon Nurses College and graduated as Registered Nurse in June, 1982. She is presently employed at Brandon General Hospital.

Edward, son of Leon and Sophie Oshust was born August 6, 1936, at Ethelbert where he attended Demery School until 1945, when he moved with his parents to Dauphin. He then attended school at Dauphin until October, 1947, and completed his schooling at Erickson. He enjoyed school sports, especially hockey. He then worked two years 1955-56 on the assembly line at the Chrysler plant at Windsor, Ontario.

Edward married Marcia Morris, daughter of Frank and Katie Morris, September 19, 1957, at St. Jude's Church, Erickson. He has worked in the family Solo Store and then to Parkwood Auto, and presently is employed as a meat cutter at the Co-op in Erickson.

Marcia continued nursing at the Erickson Medical Nursing Unit and then worked as Office Secretary for Dr. Donnelly, and is presently employed at the Sandy Lake Nursing Home.

They have two children:

Wade Edward, born September 18, 1958, attended Erickson Elementary and Collegiate. He has been very interested and active in curling during his school years. Wade married Maureen Coey, daughter of Dennis and Norma Coey on July 1, 1983, at St. Jude's Church in Erickson. They are employed and residing in Edmonton.

Barbara Lee, born June 8, 1966, attended Erickson Elementary and Collegiate. She is presently in Grade 12 at Crocus Plains school, Brandon, Manitoba.
