Ladies' Curling Club.

Marlene, born February 25, 1947, at Minnedosa Hospital, and attended Norland School. Marlene married Vern Brant and reside at East Rochester, New York. Their children are, Warren and Wendy.

Leo, born March 29, 1948, on S.E. 1O-18-17W in the Scandinavia District, with Grandma Martha W oywada and Mrs. Barbara Kaplunski as midwives. He received his education at Norland and Erickson. As a young lad, Leo snared rabbits, shot squirrels and dug Seneca root, which earned him spending money. He took an Auto Mechanics Course and later a Welding Course at Assiniboine College, Brandon. Leo worked at various jobs in the Winter and helped his father Frank on the farm during the summer. While working at Cuminco Potash Mine near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, he met Betty Holubetz. Leo and Betty were married on July 31, 1971. Betty was born in the Laniwci Area, Saskatchewan, on May 8, 1947.

They resided in Winnipeg for a year where Leo was employed at Lo Cost Automatic Transmission. In July, 1972, they purchased N.W. 26-17-17W from John and Wasylina Slobodian and have since expanded their farm operation to a: section plus 80 acres of land. They mix farm, grain, forage, Commercial Cattle, and purebred Simmental Cattle.

Leo enjoys playing the guitar and occasionally plays with a band, Rhythm Kings, at weddings and dances. Leo, and Betty and family enjoy trips to visit Betty's mother, Annie Holubetz, relatives and friends at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The family are members of the Sacred Heart Church, Erickson. Betty is presently employed part time at the Erickson Hospital. Their eleven years on the farm have been interesting and rewarding. They have two boys, Jason, born January 11, 1973, Wesley, born February 3, 1974. Jason and Wesley are attending Erickson Elementary School, are active members in the 4-H Beef Club and receive organ lessons, taught by Margaret Oman. Jason is proud to be an Altar Boy at the Sacred Heart Church.

Carl, born February 7, 1950, on S.E. 1O-18-17W in the R.M. of Clanwilliam. He received grade one to seven at Norland School No. 1115, grade eight at Lund, and then to Erickson. Carl worked in different provinces, returned, and attended the Assiniboine Community College where he met Carolyn Lorraine De Backer of Deloraine. They were married November 20, 1971. Carolyn was born July 2, 1952.

Carl and Carolyn moved to Winnipeg and then to Thompson, Manitoba, where their daughter Corrina Marie, born on March 18, 1973. The family moved back to Winnipeg where their son Christopher Troy Carl was born on September 1,1975. The family reside at La Salle, Manitoba where Carl is employed by Versatile Equip­ ment.

Terry, born April 26, 1955, at the Erickson Hospital.

He attended school at Norland, Lund, Erickson Elementary and Collegiate.

Terry married Linda Osudar on September 4, 1976 at the Ukrainian Catholic Church, Erickson. Linda is the daughter of Steve and Olga Osudar and was born at Brandon on January 19, 1955. She attended school at Onanole and Erickson Collegiate. Terry is employed with Ken Beatty Construction. The family reside in Erickson.

Brian Samuel, born October 21, 1957, at Erickson Hospital, attended school at Norland, Lund and Erickson. He married Sherry Robinson on May 28, 1977, at the Sacred Heart Church at Erickson. Brian is the manager of the Pioneer Grain Elevator at Glossip, Manitoba. The family reside at Glossip. Their children were born at Minnedosa Hospital. Carrie Lynn, born June 15, 1977. Randy Lee, born September 5, 1978. Cory James, born November 5, 1979. Justine Trevor, born February 10, 1981. Carrie and Randy are active members in a Tapp and Jass Club at Newdale.

Gerald, born October 14, 1959, at the Erickson Hospital, received his education at Erickson. He married Susan Skoglund on July 25, 1981, at the Hilltop district where they operate a mixed farm. Susan, a Licenced Practical Nurse, worked at the Health Science Centre in Winnipeg until October 1982.

Frank Jr., born May 13, 1961, at Erickson Hospital and attended school at Erickson. He has worked at various jobs and is presently employed at Erickson where he resides with his mother.

Oliver was born in the Thunder Creek District in the R.M. of Reciprocity, Saskatchewan, north of Carnduff. He married Irene Lightfoot, who came to Thunder Creek as a teacher in 1944. Irene was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. Both Oliver's and Irene's heritage originate in Ireland.

They lived in a drought area in Saskatchewan which was called the Palliser Triangle. After numerous crop failures, windstorms, etc., they decided to move. They were looking for a place with job opportunities and a place to educate their children, so when they stopped to visit a friend, Tom Chambers in Erickson, he showed
